We set out to find all four of the old U.S. storehouses built during the Alaska–Canada border dispute… scattered over 70 miles and hidden deep in the wilderness. Two of them ended up on Canadian soil, and hardly anyone has ever tracked down all four.

All we had was a rough map… and a bit of stubbornness.

This turned into a real treasure hunt—and along the way, we saw something with the humpback whales that completely caught us off guard.
